My Computer is Hot.

Of all hot topics, my computer may be the hottest. I’m not talking hot in a “sexually appealing” sort of way – oh no – I’m not even sure as to the gender of my computer. I’m talking raw temperature. It’s February and my house isn’t that warm (starving students such as my housemates and me can’t afford those hefty heating bills, we have sweaters), but my computer continues to be hot Hot HOT! I get an annoying “Intel active monitor” popping up constantly letting me know just how hot my computer is EXACTLY. I have a little fan placed behind my computer blowing air into it constantly. It’s the same fan that saves my computer that is driving me NUTS! I didn’t have a ton of sanity to spare in the first place, but what’s left is fading fast. It displaces my hair with the little breeze it makes, and sometimes the hair goes into my mouth, sometime my eye, or sometimes it just ceases to stop tickling my face, ahhhhhh!

Because the excessive heat of my computer is a relatively new thing, I assume it is the result of dust and whatever else getting in there and hindering the function of the fans. Part of me still wonders though; maybe my computer is just at “that age” and she (if it is in fact a ‘she’) is going through some changes. Do they make hormones for computers?
